Description
The Clio’s standard wastegate actuator provides a relatively weak boost curve, with slow boost build up, and it fails to hold closed as the revs rise, causing a drop-off at the top end. Turbosmart’s IWG-75 for the Clio RS is performance-focused: it has stiffer actuator springs and a larger diaphragm, which helps the wastegate stay closed when it should – meaning boost builds earlier in the rev range and hold on right until redline.
The result is power gains throughout the rev range, but a serious boost in the ‘seat-of-the-pants’ feeling that makes the car feel faster in everyday driving. The IWG-75’s bulletproof billet construction is combined with a versatile locking collar design, so it’s easily serviceable and customisable.
As a bolt-on modification for the Clio, the IWG-75 is an awesome ‘bang-for-buck’ power boost that all owners should consider.
